Love this blender.... My father gave me the original for a birthday present several years ago. After much use and many protein milkshakes (a few margaritas too), the mechanism in the jar became extremely tight....and would freeze up regularly. We tried repairing but taking this thing apart is not for the mechanically challenged. We hesitated spending this much just for the jar portion but the motor portion of the blender was still running like a champ. I bit the bullet and ordered anyway. Since we haven't tried any other blenders in the past 5-6 years and while we were waiting for this jar to arrive, we purchased a few different brands in the $80-$100 range to test them out. What a joke!!! Even though they say they crush ice....THEY DON'T!!! Even the ones with the "ice crusher" mode.....BULL!!! We had to hunt around the eating website tomake sure this was the right replacement part. But it is! The stainless steel is shiny and the blades are sharp. And it even included a new lid, which I didn't expect.
