I make smoothies just about every morning for breakfast--year round. Finding a blender that will hold up to consistent, everyday use--without fail has been difficult. Nothing seems to be made to last anymore. Things seem to last only a few months-- to a year at best before requiring replacement. I bought this Oster, to replace a Black and Decker blender that was shoddy, poor quality and only lasted 5 months! This machine has a motor strong enough to crush the frozen fruit that I use daily, without leaving chunks behind. It is loud, but I couldn't care less as long as it gets the job done. It does take awhile for all of the fruit to blend though, and sometimes I have to stop the machine and stir before re-starting. That can be annoying. While it's not my ideal choice, it is the more than adequate, and if you don't need to use it day in and day out like I do--you should be very happy with it.

This blender is loud but that is to be expected for what it does. It has been used several times over the last few weeks without problems. It works well with coarse and fine blending and chops ice well too.
The shipping was prompt and it arrived sooner than expected.
Thank goodness for Oster,

After extensive research, I knew I wanted an Oster. I wanted something cheap because I thought within 3-5 months I would have to buy a new one and I wasn't going to shell out $80+ for one again. I picked this up at Wal-Mart for $40 after my Cuisinart bit the dust.
I have had nothing but horrible luck with blenders. Until I got an Oster.
It has been over 6 months and no complaints. I love this blender. It is quiet (I used to have to plug my ears with others), it is inexpensive, has lasted longer than any of my other blenders, doesn't leak, and does what it's supposed to do and does it well!
I used to have trouble chopping frozen fruit with other machines. NOT ANYMORE. This machine is a relief and a piece of mind. It's reliable, easy to clean, and sturdy. I can put veggies in here, I can put ice, and my shakes come out with maybe one or two chunk pieces. Compare that to the others where it is nothing but completely lumpy or watered down from ice because...Read more
