I bought this at my local C---co store for $24.99. I'd gone through other blenders that were more expensive such as Cuisinart, and some that were gimmicky like the Ninja. I use a blender periodically for basic pureeing or mincing so it didn't matter to me too much about crushing ice, although this does have an ice crush button. Still, I wondered if the basic model would cut it compared to the pricier beehive. So far it has. I am very pleased with it and even did a test on the ice crush just to see. It works well as long as you pulse. It has worked well enough that I have used it almost every day for small jobs.

The great thing about Osters is that you can use mason jars with a regular mouth as an alternative to the blender jar. I have whipped cream, beaten eggs, minced garlic, and made vinaigrette in smaller mason jars and not had to dirty the whole blender jar.

I'm very pleased with this purchase and also happy that I didn't spend more money.

This is the best ice crushing and all-around blender I've ever had. Fast and great built quality. You can never go wrong with the Oster brand!

Wonderful blender for the money. Great capacity and oh so quiet. Love the ice crusher option. I wore my last blender out due to crushing too much ice. This one has all the power you'll ever need besides making great shakes with the optional milkshake blade. Absolutely recommend this blender.
