Product Review
Product Description
Packing 400 watts of power, this Krups 57370 combination blender and juice extractor quickly accomplishes dozens of kitchen tasks. It even crushes ice without having to add water--one of just nine button options on the electronic touchpad control panel. There are also six blending speeds (from Stir to Liquefy) and a pulse control. The extra-large 50-ounce glass jar creates a tornadolike action for fast, thorough blending, while a soft-start feature ramps up speed slowly to prevent splattering. A calibrated 3-ounce measuring cup twists out of the lid, allowing you to add precise amounts of ingredients. The juice extractor fits onto the power base, and, because it dispenses into an outside container, can continuously process up to 30 ounces of fruits or vegetables while retaining pulp. The blender's base is 7 inches wide and 8-3/4 inches deep, and has wraparound cord storage. A booklet with 29 recipes comes with the blender.

1.0 out of 5 stars Save your receipt, you'll need it!, December 5, 2002

I've gone through two of these blenders in 6 months. This blender has a soft rubber drive with ridges that strip off. It's not like I've used it for grinding rocks into sand, strictly smoothies, margaritas and juicing. Someone in engineering should lose their job over this idiotic design.

We received this blender as a wedding present in 2002. We had to replace the glass jar less than a year later due to a chip in the glass. Last night, the rubber drive decided to disintegrate when we tried to make a smoothie. Overall, I'm really happy with the blender, seeing as we used it almost every day for four years, but I'm quite disappointed that after 4 years we now need to buy a new one. Based on the purchase price and length of time it lasted is why I'm rating it 3 stars and not 5. And today is our four year wedding anniversary!
