This blender, supposedly noted for its ability to chop ice and make smoothies, is not very good at either. I make a post-workout smoothie with this machine five times a week and I spend more time stirring my frozen berries with a wooden spoon trying to get them in just the right place where the blades will do what they're supposed to do then I do using the blender. I should say I USED to use this blender to make smoothies but the sealing ring came apart after only a dozen hot water hand washes. And that's when the really bad things started happening. I went on the Kalorik website to order a replacement sealing ring and, knowing how poorly made they are, thought it prudent to order a few. The Kalorik Blender was purchased after reviewing the test done by Cook's magazine. their review listed it as a "best Buy". I would agree with their findings although it mentioned that it was relatively quiet. I found this not so true. It blends well and very fast for my use is primarly for making smooties. But it is noisy.
