The hand blender is very well designed and looks very sturdy. All parts fit on an included stand, so there is little chance to misplace attachments. There is a very easy to use dial on top for smooth change of speed. I used the blender to make aioli (Provençal garlic mayonnaise). The motor did not get even a bit warm in my hand.

Updated on March 23, 2012: Unfortunately, I have to rate this product at one star and warn potential buyers against buying it. Yes, it is very well designed and is very functional. Unfortunately, at least the item I purchased fell apart after just three uses most probably because the components used were of very poor quality. The I used the mixer to make mayonnaise and noticed after about 2 minutes that black flakes started to appear in the mayonnaise. Apparently, these were parts of the ball bearing that started to disintegrate. As the temperature of the shaft increased, molten plastic started to appear just above the tri-blade and the mixer froze...Read more
