Don't fool yourself into buying a B&D appliance,

You're not going to be the lucky one who gets a decent amount of use out of this thing. If you're like me, using it on an almost daily basis, it will work for a month or two. One day the blade assembly will magically disintegrate and you'll be looking at a replacement cost, with shipping, of $10 to $15. That means you could spend $100 to keep this thing running for a year, assuming nothing but the blade breaks on a regular basis. Suddenly an $80 Kitchenaide doesn't look like such a bad deal.
Dummies like me buy these things because the nice, heavy-looking glass jar gives the illusion of quality. It reminded me of the blender my parents had for years and years when I was a kid. This is not that blender. For shame, for shame, Mssrs. Black and Decker!

Not Worth the Bargain,

Trusting the Black & Decker brand, I bought this item on sale expecting it to work as an average blender. The very first time I used it, brand new out of the box, it couldn't even crush ice. The blade got stuck, and I worked with it to try to move things around, add water - nothing helped. This product is terrible. Do not buy it.

While the blender works pretty well, I would not recommend it. I used it for about a year until the blade assembly completely broke. It's not like I tried to blend anything hard in it either. I looked at replacing the blade assembly for about 18 dollars. But once you add shipping you're almost up to the cost of the blender itself. You might as well buy a new one. It looks quality but I think I'll have to do better research for my new one.
