I would first like to state that I purchased this replacement part with great hesitation due to the several negative reviews here on Amazon. Still, I didn't want to dispose of the entire blender, so I decided to purchase the screw cap. After a dozen uses, the cap remains 100% intact without any defects, cracks, chipping, or damage whatsoever. I'm beginning to speculate as to why the previous reviewers have experienced cracking with their replacement caps. Here is my evaluation:

* The o-ring that fits securely on the inside of the cap MUST be present during use. Using the blender without the o-ring inserted correctly means that the cap WILL experience extreme friction during use and WILL crack. (Note: This replacement cap does NOT come with an o-ring. SAVE your o-ring, and dispose ONLY of the damaged cap.

I was happy with the blender for a while then the stupid ring broke, leaving a ton of berry juice on my kitchen floor. Yes, the cheap plastic hit me. But it ain't so cheap to replace it. You do the math
11.5$ + tax is most than 25% of the original cost of the blender, then it will break again because remember it is cheap plastic... and they advertise it's an original piece (yup the same cXXp you bought in the first place)

My advice - Find a good blender and buy it once... Don't throw good money after bad money.

Like the other two reviewers, I bought this ring after cracking the original. I used this new ring ONE TIME. And then it broke. Unfortunately, the part is cheap material and even if I would have gotten more than one use out of it, it would have still broken eventually. :( Save yourself some money, get rid of the blender if you cracked the ring once and buy a better one.
