Healthy fruit smoothies or frozen strawberry daiquiris will be the hit of the party with this Smoothie Pro blender. After the concoction of choice is blended smoothly--the special blades crush ice with no problem--guests can help themselves by placing a glass under the self-serve dispenser valve. If the smoothie has been sitting for a while and needs re-mixing, all one needs to do is push the Mix/Pour button at the same time as opening the valve, and the drink comes out in a smooth stream. More ingredients can be continually added so that the jar never runs out. The powerful 500-watt motor bumps up to 700 watts when the Pulse button is pushed; the operating noise bumps ups too at that point, but would most likely be drowned out by party revelers. A custom designed stir stick inserts through the lid opening and can be rotated in place during blending to help eliminate air pockets and break up lumps. Made of durable plastic that is best washed by hand, the tapered 7-cup jar features handy measuring marks that indicate suggested levels of liquid and frozen ingredients. Recipe cards are included. Measuring 14-3/4 by 8-1/2 inches, the blender is constructed of a plastic base, making the entire unit lightweight and easy to carry to a friend’s house. --Ann Bieri

It makes nice smoothies but the 700 watts of power creates too much noise. The noise was so loud that at first I thought something was wrong with the unit. The loud noise makes you think twice before using it. They should issue ear plugs with each unit. The retaining nut for the blades vibrated loose and leaked all over the unit. The plastic housing and pitcher gives it a cheap quality look. I would be surprised if this unit last more than one year with light use.

I bought one of these last summer. It lasted about 2 weeks with infrequent use. I called the company and they sent me a replacement part which lasted 1 use. I was just making smoothies and not doing anything heavy-duty with it...not even using fruit and only a few 1/2 size ice cubes at a time. In my opinion they should recall this Smoothie Pro as defective in design. The motor is too powerful for the construction of the blade assembly. Perhaps my bad experience with this can save someone else from wasting money.

I have had this item for about 2 months. It crushes ice realy well and the pour spout is convient. But that is where it stops. The pour spout was convient until the tab broke. It is completely plastic and very flimsy. Not 2 days later the blade housing stripped and now is completly ineffective. The motor runs fine but is useless without a blade to be turned. With 700 watts you would think that they would realize that plastic is not the best answer. I would not recommend this to anyone unless some changes were made!
