When I purchased this little gem, I thought will this be another one of those kitchen gadgets that is just going to sit around and collect dusk. Well... it gathers no dust. As a matter of fact, this is the best 20 bucks I've ever spent on a kitchen appliance. Make you desired drink (and it whips smoothies up like the bigger, stronger models), turn over, drink, and rinse the glass. No typical blender cleanup!!! As for the other review on this site... one of the reasons I bought this was because it was a BACK-to-BASICS product and they do stand behind their products (I recently had one of their blender die on me... no proof of when I bought it... they took a code from the bottom and told me if I the bottom of the blender back to them, they would replace it. Not only did they replace it but shipped me a brand new complete unit!). For the other reviewer, I suggest giving the manufacturer a call... the stores return policy may have been 30 days, but the warranty is for a full year!
Owned it for 5 years and still works great!,

I'm back on Amazon to order additional cups for my blender. I literally make at least 5 smoothies a week with this blender. I've owned it for 5 years. The reason I am buying more cups is so that I don't have to keep washing them after I use them. After reading some of these other reviews i'm surprised about the people claiming their blender broke. My guess is that they just don't know how to use a blender. By the way, my parents have the Magic Bullet blender.. this Back to Basics blender is more sturdy and easier to use.

I received a Back to Basics 'Blender Express' as a gift. It lasted all of 2 months before the bushing (the bearing for the cutter) in the jar base permanently froze up and would have burned out the motor too if I hadn't switched it off as it immediately began smoking and creating a terrible smell. I tried WD-40 and some other things to un-jam the cutter but this duck was dead. I had maintained it well and kept it clean so it wasn't due to poor maintenance. I wouldn't waste my money on any Back to Basics products after seeing how this one was constructed.
